Description:
The ArmouredSlate is effectively a slate tile. The simple, high performance unit comes ready-to-install and even stack and hook over the batten for ease of handling when on the roof. The Mayan, modern slate roof system was developed utilising our wealth of over 40+ years of knowledge and experience in roofing.
ArmouredSlate is made from well-known, tried and tested GRP, that has been used for over 40 years in roofing applications with consistent high-performance, long life and stability.
Low pitch, lightweight slate roofing system. The innovative ArmouredSlate Tile is the brand new system that makes installing slates extremely easy. The one-of-a-kind natural slate Tile is a unique mounting solution for roofing slates. Due to the extremely high performance the system can be used on low pitches down to 10 degrees. The pre-formed unit hooks over the batten, with slates already attached to the patented GRP plate.
The ArmouredSlate has a traditional appearance, indistinguishable from traditional slate. Because the system is cross laminated and bonded with our unqiue and bespoke fibreglass preformed plate, the slates can withstand extreme force or weight, they are extremely strong. This means walking on the roof is no problem, and the slates have extreme durability added, but still with all of the natural propertes and appearance.
The GRP plate is positioned just below the slates to provide a resilient and completely waterproof layer, offering total protection against the very worst of the elements.
How dose it work?
Specially formed, patented GRP plate replaces the double lap normally required in standard slating. The ArmouredSlate GRP plate is easily placed over the batten to enable resilient and completely weatherproof single lap slating for low pitch.
The design incorporates a weather seal to prevent rain blowing under the slates, the weathering bar then prevents any wind or capillary driven rain from tracking up the slate. The GRP plate fits perfectly below the slates, offering total protection against the very worst of the elements.
