Description:
The Metal Edge Plate provides a smart and secure finish at the perimeter of paving installations. Designed to prevent direct contact between paving slabs and the wall or upstand, it helps protect surfaces from damage while maintaining a consistent drainage gap. The spring-loaded bullnose edge absorbs impact and allows for small movements in the slabs, reducing the risk of cracking or chipping.
Its central slit enables the plate to sit neatly over the lugs or fins on the pedestal headpiece, locking it in place without additional fixings. Ideal for use with Class A systems, this robust plate is suited for high-rise and fire-sensitive projects requiring non-combustible materials.
The Metal Edge Plate is designed to support and position paving slabs or tiles right up to walls, upstands, and parapets. It slots easily onto pedestal headpieces, holding two tiles securely while maintaining proper spacing. The design supports both the slab weight and foot traffic, even where the slab overhangs the pedestal head.
Building regulations require a 10mm gap between paving and walls to allow for adequate drainage. The angled bullnose on the plate can be adjusted to increase or reduce this gap, ensuring compliance while delivering clean, precise finishes across terraces, balconies, podiums, and flat roofs.
Installation:
Installation is fast and straightforward. Simply remove two opposing lugs from the pedestal headpiece to create a clear path for the plate to rest on the remaining two. Slide the plate into place so the bullnose meets the wall or parapet—its central slit allows precise positioning.
