Description:
OWL Waterproofing’s LAVA 20 Epoxy Two Part Primer is a high-performance, water-based epoxy primer designed for use with the Lava 20 Waterproofing System.
The two-component formulation chemically cures to create a durable bonding layer between the existing substrate and subsequent waterproofing coatings. Unlike primers designed primarily for porous surfaces, the LAVA 20 Epoxy Primer can be used across a wide variety of absorbent, semi-absorbent and non-absorbent substrates, making it particularly useful on challenging or mixed roof surfaces.
It is especially recommended for surfaces such as metal, ceramic tiles, asphalt, bituminous roofing membranes and existing coatings, where a strong adhesion layer is required before applying Lava 20 waterproofing products.
The primer may also be used on concrete, polished concrete, timber and glass, providing a highly versatile solution for refurbishment projects where several different substrate types may be present.
When applied at approximately 0.100 - 0.200 kg/m², the product provides an effective primer and bonding layer. When applied at approximately 0.600 kg/m² over three coats, it can also act as a water vapour control barrier.
Actual coverage may vary depending on the porosity and texture of the substrate, application method, temperature, humidity and condition of the surface.
